Mechanical Responsible Engineer (RE) ⚙️</strong></p><p>The RE holds full technical accountability for mechanical &amp; ventilation engineering within their area, ensuring all work is safe, compliant, and fit for purpose across the project lifecycle 🔍.</p><p>Working to R2A2 (ED21), you’ll provide technical leadership, governance, and assurance, while retaining responsibility for key engineering decisions—even when delegated 👷♂️.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities &amp; Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>Strong mechanical engineering background in regulated, safety-critical environments ⚠️</li><li>Proven technical accountability &amp; decision-making experience ✅</li><li>Ensure compliance with legislation, standards, and safety requirements 📜</li><li>Establish governance, assurance &amp; verification processes 🧩</li><li>Lead multi-disciplinary teams &amp; resolve complex technical issues 🤝</li><li>Manage technical risks effectively ⚡</li><li>Interface with project teams, regulators &amp; assurance bodies 🏢</li><li>Promote a strong safety, quality &amp; compliance culture 🛡️</li></ul>

<p><strong>Essential Qualifications 🎓</strong></p><ul><li>Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline ⚙️</li><li>Extensive experience aligned to a Responsible Engineer role 🏗️</li><li>Chartered Engineer (or equivalent) with a recognised institution 👨🔧</li><li>Able to meet security clearance &amp; site access requirements 🔐</li></ul><p><strong>Key Experience 💼</strong></p><ul><li>Experience as a Responsible Engineer or technical authority in nuclear/high-hazard environments ☢️</li><li>Safety case development, substantiation &amp; regulatory engagement 📊</li><li>Full lifecycle delivery: concept → commissioning &amp; handover 🔄</li><li>Managing deviations, concessions &amp; non-conformances ⚠️</li><li>Strong understanding of governance, assurance &amp; gated processes 🧩</li><li>Contribution to strategic decision-making &amp; continuous improvement 📈</li></ul><p><strong>Specialist Knowledge ⭐</strong></p><ul><li>SQEP in high-integrity piping design (incl. seismic &amp; safety case) 🔩</li><li>Machinery Directive &amp; machinery design expertise ⚙️</li><li>UKCA marking for new facilities 🇬🇧</li><li>Familiarity with SEMs, Design Capability CoE &amp; organisational structures 🏢</li><li>SQEP aligned with SR0699 &amp; ED21 standards 🎯</li></ul>
