Kubernetes Engineer (Mid to Senior)

<p><strong>Dark Wolf </strong>is seeking multiple levels of <strong>Kubernetes Engineers</strong> to provide technical leadership in designing, building, and maintaining elastic, secure, and resilient cloud foundations. The Kubernetes Engineers will architect multi-cloud and hybrid environments (EKS/Fargate, AKS, GKE, or self-hosted), drive GitOps-based CI/CD pipelines, and sustain critical platform initiatives—including Iron Bank and Big Bang integrations. You will lead technical teams, implement zero-downtime and disaster recovery strategies, and enforce strict security, compliance, and RBAC policies across all operational environments. The Kubernetes Engineers will operate in a hybrid capacity out of any of our Dark Wolf offices.</p>

<p><strong>Mid-level Engineer:</strong></p>

<ul>

<li>Provisioning, configuring, and monitoring containerized workloads and database solutions across Dev, Test, and Live environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Helm.</li>

<li>Packaging and hardening applications into containers; assist with upstream synchronization, vulnerability remediation, and documentation updates for Big Bang and Iron Bank packages.</li>

<li>Supporting Continuous Integration and Delivery pipelines, managing container registries and GitOps workflows.</li>

<li>Resolving operational incident escalations, troubleshoot functional/performance issues, and assist with zero-downtime release deployments.</li>

</ul>

<p><strong>Required Qualifications:&nbsp;</strong></p>

<ul>

<li>3-5 years of relevant experience&nbsp;</li>

<li>3+ years of cloud/container engineering experience</li>

<li>Experience working on DevSecOps teams</li>

<li>Experience with cloud systems, such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, by supporting deployments and architecture setups</li>

<li>Experience with Helm Charts</li>

<li>Understanding of each component of Kubernetes control plan</li>

<li>Security and compliance knowledge for Kubernetes&nbsp;</li>

<li>Knowledge of Linux and networking</li>

<li>CKA Certification highly desired</li>

</ul>

<p><strong>Senior-level Engineer:</strong></p>

<p><strong>Senior-level Engineer Responsibilities:</strong></p>

<ul>

<li>Implementing service-mesh (Istio) configurations, custom Helm charts, Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs), and custom admission controllers.</li>

<li>Overseeing 100% compliance and security postures for assigned Platform One/Big Bang packages, ensuring successful release branch merges and upstream syncs.</li>

<li>Designing network connectivity, zero-downtime deployment strategies, and multi-region failover/failback procedures.</li>

<li>Leading technical tasks within Agile teams, contribute to capacity planning and demand forecasting, and provide direct technical mentorship to junior/mid-level engineers.</li>

<li>Functioning as a technical expert across the team and tasks&nbsp;</li>

</ul>

<p><strong>&nbsp;Required Qualifications:</strong></p>

<ul>

<li>5-7 years of relevant experience&nbsp;</li>

<li>5+ years of experience working with Kubernetes/containers</li>

<li>Experience working on DevSecOps teams</li>

<li>Strong experience with infrastructure tools like Helm, Docker, and Terraform</li>

<li>Experience with Istio</li>

<li>Security and compliance knowledge for Kubernetes&nbsp;</li>

<li>Knowledge of multiple cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud</li>

<li>Experience in building automation and configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible, Terraform)</li>

<li>Extensive knowledge of Linux and networking</li>

<li>Experience with Helm Charts</li>

<li>CKA Certification&nbsp;</li>

</ul>

<p><strong>Subject Matter Expert (SME) Engineer</strong></p>

<ul>

<li>Architecting elastic, cost-effective, resilient cloud foundations using loosely coupled designs across multi-cloud and hybrid environments.</li>

<li>Designing multi-datacenter Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies, zero-downtime architectures, and complex data protection/auditing frameworks.</li>

<li>Assessing and establishing strategic RBAC standards, platform security policies, and continuous compliance frameworks across all enterprise Kubernetes clusters (including Iron Bank).</li>

<li>Providing top-tier technical authority across Platform One infrastructure and innovation teams, shape long-term capacity forecasts, and make critical architectural decisions.</li>

<li>Providing technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments.</li>

</ul>

<p><strong>&nbsp;Required Qualifications:</strong></p>

<ul>

<li>8+ years of relevant experience&nbsp;</li>

<li>7+ years of experience working with Kubernetes/containers</li>

<li>3+ years of experience providing technical guidance to other engineers</li>

<li>Experience on DevSecOps teams</li>

<li>Expertise with infrastructure tools like Helm, Docker, and Terraform</li>

<li>Expertise with Platform One tools</li>

<li>Knowledge of multiple cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud</li>

<li>Expertise with Istio</li>

<li>Deep knowledge of security and compliance for Kubernetes&nbsp;</li>

<li>Strong experience in building automation and configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible, Terraform)</li>

<li>Extensive expertise of Linux and networking</li>

</ul>

<p>The estimated salary range for these positions are:<br>Mid - $110,000.00 - $160,000.00, commensurate on experience and technical skillset<br>Senior - $150,000.00 - $180,000.00 commensurate on experience and technical skillset<br>SME - $180,000.00 - $220,000.00, commensurate on experience and technical skillset</p>
