About this role

<p><strong>Summary of Position:</strong>&nbsp;</p>

<p><em>The Orthodontic Assistant is a pivotal role to Gorman and Bunch Orthodontics and serves as the primary supporting person to our doctor team.&nbsp; This role will assist with various activities in working with the doctors and patients alike and will strive to be a positive, friendly, and professional addition to the team.</em><strong> </strong><em>This position is for Day shift, Full-Time W/ Benefits Averaging 32-36 hours, Monday through Thursdays, with occasional half day coverage on Fridays.&nbsp;</em></p>

<p><strong>Essential Job Function:</strong>&nbsp;</p>

<ul>

<li>Establish a trusting rapport with patients, ensuring the highest level of patient customer service is given to all patients&nbsp;</li>

<li>Educate the patients on orthodontic care and treatment practices&nbsp;</li>

<li>Work chairside&nbsp;with&nbsp;patient care including assisting in placing and removing orthodontic appliances&nbsp;</li>

<li>Taking X-Rays, pictures, fabricating retainers&nbsp;</li>

<li>Maintain patients’ charts and transcribe the doctor notes accurately&nbsp;</li>

<li>Keep patient rooms&nbsp;stocked and organized as well as clean, sterilize, and prepare the equipment&nbsp;</li>

<li>Be receptive to coaching and training from doctors to better develop skillset&nbsp;</li>

<li>Other duties as required&nbsp;</li>

</ul>

<li>Knowledge of&nbsp;Orthodontics and associated treatment&nbsp;appliances and equipment used&nbsp;</li>

<li>Action-oriented and taking initiative, being adaptive and flexible in a changing environment&nbsp;</li>

<li>Understand and can effectively communicate techniques utilized in the Orthodontic field&nbsp;</li>

<li>Have excellent written and oral communication skills&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>

<li>Compassion and high level of service for our patients, parents, and staff&nbsp;</li>

<li>Integrity, always doing the right thing&nbsp;</li>

<li>Ability to handle confidential information and protect patient confidentiality&nbsp;</li>

<li>Dependable, reliable to be at work when scheduled&nbsp;</li>

<li>Attention to detail&nbsp;</li>

<li>Able to&nbsp;stay organized and follow instruction&nbsp;</li>

<li>Professional manner and appearance at all times&nbsp;</li>

<li>Computer skills: Microsoft office and&nbsp;Web Browser&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>

</ul>

<p><strong>Education and Experience</strong>&nbsp;</p>

<ul>

<li>High School Diploma, GED or equivalent</li>

<li>1-2 years Orthodontic experience required</li>

</ul>
