<p>Job Summary:</p>

<p>The Women Shelter Attendant will provide direct support and assistance to residents of the shelter, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment. This role requires compassion, patience, and the ability to work collaboratively with both residents and shelter staff.</p>

<p>Key Responsibilities:</p>

<ul>

<li>Resident Support:

<ul>

<li>Assist residents with daily needs, including personal safety, emotional support, and resources for empowerment.</li>

<li>Help maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe living environment.</li>

<li>Facilitate access to health and community resources.</li>

</ul>

</li>

<li>Crisis Intervention:

<ul>

<li>Respond to resident inquiries and potential crises with sensitivity and urgency.</li>

<li>Utilize conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques to manage conflicts among residents.</li>

<li>Maintain a calm and supportive presence, especially during high-stress situations.</li>

</ul>

</li>

<li>Shelter Operations:

<ul>

<li>Monitor shelter premises to ensure security and compliance with shelter policies.</li>

<li>Conduct regular safety checks and assist in emergency procedures as needed.</li>

<li>Upkeep cleanliness of shelter facility.</li>

</ul>

</li>

<li>Documentation and Reporting:

<ul>

<li>Maintain accurate records of resident interactions and incidents, reporting any concerns to the Shelter Manager.</li>

<li>Assist in the preparation of reports and updates as requested by management.</li>

</ul>

</li>

</ul>

<p>Qualifications:</p>

<ul>

<li>Experience in social services, crisis intervention, or similar roles, especially within a women’s shelter or support environment.</li>

<li>Demonstrated knowledge of issues surrounding domestic violence, homelessness, and women's health.</li>

<li>Clear Vulnerable Sector Check and Intervention Record Checks.&nbsp;</li>

</ul>

<p>Skills:</p>

<ul>

<li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills.</li>

<li>Ability to show empathy and establish rapport with diverse populations.</li>

<li>Basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.</li>

<li>Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.</li>

<li>Physically able to complete daily tasks such as cleaning, lifting objects when needed and any activities that may take place.&nbsp;</li>

<li>Class 5 drivers license and drivers abstract.&nbsp;</li>

</ul>

<p>Working Conditions:</p>

<p>The Women Shelter Attendant will work in a dynamic environment that may require occasional lifting and a willingness to respond to various emotional and situational challenges. The role will involve interaction with individuals from diverse backgrounds and&nbsp;experiences.&nbsp;</p>
