Electrical Works Supervisor (EN-EL-CS-2025-277-LD)

<p><strong>Introduction</strong></p><p>As an Electrical&nbsp;Works Manager&nbsp;within the Cabling Section, you’ll play a key role in expanding, strengthening, and maintaining CERN’s control and power cable installations, required for various systems within the CERN accelerators, such as alarm systems, process control systems, beam instrumentation and magnet powering systems.</p><p><strong>Functions</strong></p><ul><li>Analyse installation and dismantling requests, liaising directly with requestors as needed to complete the required information.</li><li>Conduct on-site technical visits to prepare and coordinate the activities.&nbsp;</li><li>Prepare bills of quantities and quotations.&nbsp;</li><li>Develop comprehensive technical documentation detailing the work to be carried out by CERN's electrical installation contractor.&nbsp;</li><li>Manage the logistics required for the activities, such as material delivery, scaffolding setup, and site access.&nbsp;</li><li>Carry out risk assessments related to the execution of the work, identifying potential hazards and defining mitigation measures to ensure safety and compliance with CERN standards.&nbsp;</li><li>Supervise daily activities and report the progress, safety and quality of the works.&nbsp;</li><li>Perform the inspection, testing and acceptance of completed work.&nbsp;</li></ul>

<ul><li>Technical certificate or general secondary education or equivalent relevant experience in the field of Industrial Electrical Installation or a related field.</li></ul><p><strong>Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>Demonstrated experience in planning, preparing, and overseeing industrial electrical works, including the implementation of lockout/tagout procedures;&nbsp;</li><li>Experience in verifying the technical quality and compliance of electrical installations with applicable standards and specifications;&nbsp;</li><li>Experience in technical supervision of contractors.</li></ul><p><strong>Technical competencies:</strong></p><ul><li>Construction, test and commissioning of electrical circuits and networks.&nbsp;</li><li>Operation and maintenance of electrical circuits and networks.&nbsp;</li><li>Organisation, planning and control.</li></ul><p><strong>Behavioural competencies:</strong></p><ul><li>Achieving Results: driving work / projects along and seeing them through to their conclusion.</li><li>Communicating Effectively: listening actively to others and letting others speak.</li><li>Managing Self: taking initiative beyond regular tasks and making things happen.</li><li>Solving Problems: anticipating obstacles; assessing alternative solutions in order to have a fall-back plan.</li><li>Working in Teams: building and maintaining constructive and effective work relationships.</li></ul><p><strong>Language skills:</strong></p><ul><li>Spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the other language.</li></ul>
