Fiber Splicer

<p>Michigan Broadband Services is looking for a talented Splicer to join our team. &nbsp;This role requires regular travel throughout Michigan, including the Upper Peninsula and Northern Lower Michigan. </p>

<p>Primary Responsibilities</p>

<p>- Preparing various types of outside plant fiber optic cables for splicing</p>

<p>- Splicing fiber optic cable</p>

<p>- Operating fiber optic test equipment (OTDR and power meters) for trouble-shooting purposes</p>

<p>- Servicing and upgrading various telecommunication services</p>

<p>- Generating various reports for testing and production</p>

<p>- Performing all aspects of the work in accordance with standards and specifications<br></p>

<p>Qualifications</p>

<p>- Previous technical field experience preferred</p>

<p>- Ability to read and accurately apply job prints, staking sheets, and splicing details</p>

<p>- Computer proficient</p>

<p>- At least one year of previous splicing experience is desired</p>

<p>The successful candidate will be a demonstrated self-starter with the ability to prioritize and complete daily work assignments without close supervision, although regular communication regarding the status of various assigned jobs will be required.</p>

<p>Additional Minimum Requirements</p>

<p>- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds,&nbsp;</p>

<p>- Valid driver’s license with a clear 3-year driving record</p>

<p>- Ability to work in close and confined spaces</p>

<p>- Ability to perform physically exerting tasks with routine exposure to dust, dirt, wind, and temperature extremes&nbsp;</p>

<p>- Shift, overtime, weekend work and/or overnight stays will be required.</p>
