Volunteer Board Member/Director

<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Strategic Planning:</strong>&nbsp;Collaborate with other board members and the executive team to set the organization's strategic goals and direction.</li><li><strong>Governance:</strong>&nbsp;Ensure the organization adheres to legal and ethical standards, including compliance with relevant laws and regulations.</li><li><strong>Financial Oversight:</strong>&nbsp;Monitor the financial health of the organization, participate in budgeting processes, and ensure proper financial controls are in place.</li><li><strong>Fundraising and Resource Development:</strong>&nbsp;Assist in securing financial resources through fundraising efforts, donor engagement, and grant writing.</li><li><strong>Advocacy and Outreach:</strong>&nbsp;Represent Brakin Out Inc. in the community, building relationships with stakeholders, partners, and potential donors.</li><li><strong>Program Oversight:</strong>&nbsp;Provide guidance and support for program development and evaluation, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and goals.</li><li><strong>Board Development:</strong>&nbsp;Participate in the recruitment, orientation, and training of new board members. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the board.</li></ul>

<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Commitment to Mission:</strong>&nbsp;A strong belief in Brakin Out Inc.'s mission to provide mentorship and second chances to at-risk youth.</li><li><strong>Educational Background:</strong>&nbsp;Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in nonprofit management, business, law, finance, education, social work, or a related field preferred.</li><li><strong>Professional Experience:</strong>&nbsp;Significant experience in nonprofit management, business, law, finance, education, social work, or a related field.</li><li><strong>Leadership Skills:</strong>&nbsp;Proven leadership abilities, strategic thinking, and the capacity to work collaboratively.</li><li><strong>Fundraising Experience:</strong>&nbsp;Demonstrated experience in fundraising, donor relations, and resource development.</li><li><strong>Community Involvement:</strong>&nbsp;Strong connections within the community and a willingness to leverage personal and professional networks for the benefit of the organization.</li><li><strong>Time Commitment:</strong>&nbsp;Ability to commit to attending regular board meetings, participating in committee work, and engaging in fundraising and outreach activities.</li></ul>
