<p>Job Summary</p>
<p>The Electrician is responsible for the safe installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of all electrical systems across the resort. The role ensures continuous, efficient operations in compliance with HEART/NCTVET occupational standards, the Jamaica Electrical Code, and resort safety policies, while supporting guest comfort, staff safety, and asset protection in a luxury hospitality environment. This position reports to the Engineer Manager.</p>
<p>Job Purpose</p>
<p>To perform electrical maintenance and repair functions that support uninterrupted resort operations, uphold regulatory compliance, and maintain high standards of safety, efficiency, and service excellence.</p>
<p>Key Duties & Responsibilities</p>
<ul>
<li>Install, test, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, lighting systems, panels, switches, outlets, motors, generators, and associated equipment.</li>
<li>Conduct preventive maintenance in accordance with established schedules and HEART/NCTVET competency standards.</li>
<li>Diagnose electrical faults using approved testing instruments and apply corrective solutions promptly.</li>
<li>Ensure all work complies with the Jamaica Electrical Code, Occupational Safety and Health regulations, and resort policies.</li>
<li>Maintain emergency power systems, including generators and UPS systems.</li>
<li>Complete maintenance logs, job cards, inspection reports, and compliance documentation accurately.</li>
<li>Observe safe work practices, including lock-out/tag-out procedures and proper use of PPE.</li>
<li>Support energy-efficiency, sustainability, and cost-control initiatives.</li>
<li>Coordinate tasks with other engineering trades and external contractors as required.</li>
<li>Maintain professionalism and discretion when working in guest and public areas.</li>
</ul>
<p>Required Qualifications </p>
<ul>
<li>HEART/NCTVET Level 2 or Level 3 Certification in Electrical Installation or Industrial Electrical Maintenance (mandatory).</li>
<li>Valid Trade Certificate or equivalent recognized in Jamaica.</li>
<li>Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) certification is an asset.</li>
</ul>
<p>Experience</p>
<ul>
<li>Minimum three (3) years’ post-certification experience in electrical maintenance.</li>
<li>Experience in a hotel, resort, or large commercial facility is preferred.</li>
</ul>
<p>Technical Competencies </p>
<ul>
<li>Electrical installation and maintenance</li>
<li>Electrical fault diagnosis and troubleshooting</li>
<li>Safe operation of electrical tools and testing equipment</li>
<li>Interpretation of electrical drawings and schematics</li>
<li>Application of electrical and occupational safety regulations</li>
</ul>
