After Care Support Specialist - Carondelet Park

<p>Position Title: After School Support Specialist<br>Reports To: Beyond School Administrator&nbsp;<br>Status: Part-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt<br>Hourly Rate: Starting at $16-$18 per hour<br>Typical Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (hours may vary based on program needs and school calendar)</p>

<p>Position Summary</p>

<p>Atlas Public Schools is seeking energetic, reliable, and student-centered individuals to join our Beyond School team as After School Support Specialists. This role supports the supervision, engagement, and safety of students participating in after-school programming.</p>

<p>This position is ideal for individuals interested in education, youth development, classroom support, or pursuing a future career in teaching. Successful candidates will help create a positive, engaging, and safe environment where students can learn, play, and build relationships after the school day ends.</p>

<p>Essential Responsibilities</p>

<ul>

<li>Supervise groups of students during after-school programming.</li>

<li>Lead and support recreational, enrichment, academic, and social-emotional activities.</li>

<li>Assist with student transitions, attendance, snack distribution, and dismissal procedures.</li>

<li>Build positive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate behavioral expectations.</li>

<li>Support students in resolving conflicts and making positive choices.</li>

<li>Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times.</li>

<li>Communicate effectively with school staff and program leadership.</li>

<li>Assist with setup, cleanup, and organization of program spaces and materials.</li>

<li>Follow all Atlas Public Schools policies, procedures, and safety protocols.</li>

<li>Perform other duties as assigned to support student success and program operations.</li>

<p>Qualifications</p>

<ul>

<li>High school diploma or equivalent required.</li>

<li>Associate's degree, college coursework, or experience working with children preferred.</li>

<li>Previous experience in education, childcare, summer camps, youth programs, coaching, or related fields preferred.</li>

<li>Ability to effectively supervise and engage groups of children.</li>

<li>Strong communication and relationship-building skills.</li>

<li>Ability to maintain professionalism and reliability in a school environment.</li>

<li>Successful completion of all required background checks and employment screenings.</li>

</ul>

<p>Physical Requirements</p>

<ul>

<li>Ability to actively supervise students in classrooms, hallways, gymnasiums, playgrounds, and outdoor spaces.</li>

<li>Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the duration of the shift.</li>

<li>Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds.</li>
