<p><br>CAKE has vacancies to join our hard-working team of Tower Structure Maintainers in Palmerston North.<br><br></p>

<p>The roles are physically demanding and exciting as we climb, waterblast, paint, torque bolts, install earth plates, replace steel members and undertake outage work on transmission towers, throughout the country.<br></p>

<p><br>Location: Based in Palmerston North with project work across New Zealand - this is a mandatory part of the job</p>

<p>Type: Full-time, permanent<br>Pay rate: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour depending on skills and experience<br>Minimum guaranteed hours: 40 hours weekly</p>

<p>Job description<br>The key tasks you will be involved with include:</p>

<p><br></p>

<ul>

<li>To complete maintenance on towers throughout the upper North Island region</li>

<li>Follow all Health &amp; Safety, Quality and Environmental systems and procedures</li>

<li>Provide structural repairs to the towers</li>

<li>Water wash and blast towers</li>

<li>Abrasive blast towers</li>

<li>Paint towers</li>

<li>Replace bolts and steel members on towers</li>

<li>Install Earth Plates</li>

<li>Apply Earths to Isolated and Earthed Conductor</li>

<li>Hold Outage Permits</li>

<li>To follow all specifications</li>

<li>To undertake training as required</li>

<p>Qualifications/experience<br>We need experienced people, so you must have AT LEAST 3 years of related work experience such as:&nbsp;</p>

<p><br></p>

<ul>

<li>undertaking tower maintenance, painting or linesman duties; or</li>

<li>Industrial painting and including blasting</li>

</ul>

<p><br></p>

<p>A qualification would be useful but is not required if you have sufficient experience.</p>

<p><br></p>

<p>CAKE will provide extensive on-the-job training, including for working at heights, and support individuals in gaining a Level 4 qualification.<br></p>

<p><br></p>

<p>You will have a current NZ Driver’s license or be readily able to obtain one.<br></p>

<p><br></p>

<p>You will be able to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and routine random testing undertaken.</p>

<p>You will be a good communicator and have the ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing in English. You are highly motivated, physically fit, enjoy working in teams and demonstrate a commitment to learning and growing. A positive attitude is the key thing here!</p>
