<h2>About the Role</h2>

<p>We are looking for an experienced <strong>Finance Manager / FP&amp;A Lead</strong> to join our growing finance team and play a key role across our US and UK operations.</p>

<p>This is a hands-on role that combines <strong>FP&amp;A, financial reporting, accounting, and month/quarter-end close responsibilities</strong>. The successful candidate will work closely with the US and UK Controllers and have the opportunity to support a complex, multi-group biotech organization.</p>

<p>The role will report directly to the Finance leadership team and will be responsible for helping ensure the <strong>accurate, timely, and high-quality delivery of financial reporting and close processes</strong>, while also providing meaningful financial analysis and insight to support business decisions.</p>

<p>We are particularly interested in candidates with <strong>biotech or life sciences experience</strong>, strong technical accounting knowledge, and experience working across US and UK reporting environments.</p>

<h2>Key Responsibilities</h2>

<h3>Financial Planning &amp; Analysis</h3>

<ul>

<p>Lead and support FP&amp;A activities, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Provide meaningful analysis and insights into financial performance, trends, and business drivers.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Partner with business and finance stakeholders to develop financial plans and forecasts.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Translate financial data into clear insights and recommendations for leadership.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Support scenario analysis and longer-term financial planning.</p>

</li>

</ul>

<h3>Financial Reporting &amp; Close</h3>

<ul>

<li>

<p>Support the accurate and timely completion of monthly and quarterly close processes across US and UK entities.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Work closely with the US and UK Controllers to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial information.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Review financial results, investigate variances, and identify potential accounting or reporting issues.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Support preparation and review of management and financial reporting.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Assist with US/SEC reporting requirements and related financial information.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Help ensure consistent accounting and reporting practices across the group.</p>

</li>

</ul>

<h3>Accounting &amp; Technical Finance</h3>

<ul>

<li>

<p>Apply strong knowledge of <strong>US GAAP and UK GAAP</strong> across a multi-entity environment.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Support technical accounting matters and ensure appropriate accounting treatment for complex transactions.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Work closely with Controllers and other finance stakeholders on accounting issues and reporting requirements.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Develop a detailed understanding of the group's operations, entities, and financial activities.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Be willing to <strong>roll up your sleeves and get into the detail</strong> when required rather than operating solely at a high-level FP&amp;A or management-reporting level.</p>

</li>

</ul>

<h3>Business Partnership</h3>

<ul>

<li>

<p>Partner closely with finance and operational teams across the US and UK.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Build strong working relationships with Controllers and other key stakeholders.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Help improve financial processes, reporting, controls, and systems.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Identify opportunities to streamline and improve the efficiency and accuracy of finance processes.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Support ad hoc financial analysis and projects as the business evolves.</p>

</li>

</ul>

<h2>Required Qualifications &amp; Experience</h2>

<ul>

<li>

<p>Qualified accountant (e.g., <strong>ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent</strong>).</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Significant experience in finance, FP&amp;A, financial reporting, or a combination of these areas.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p><strong>Strong biotech or life sciences industry experience is essential.</strong></p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Strong knowledge of <strong>US GAAP</strong> and familiarity with <strong>UK GAAP</strong>.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Experience with <strong>US/SEC reporting</strong> and related financial reporting requirements.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Experience supporting month-end and quarter-end close processes.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Strong financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and analytical capabilities.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Experience working within a multi-entity or multi-group organization.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Excellent Excel and financial analysis skills.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under deadlines.</p>

</li>

</ul>

<h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2>

<ul>

<p>Experience working across US and UK finance teams.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Experience in a public company or SEC reporting environment.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Experience with biotech, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or another highly regulated industry.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.</p>

</li>

<li>

<p>Experience improving finance processes and controls.</p>

</li>

</ul>
