<p>We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead day-to-day field operations on civil construction projects across the&nbsp;<strong>DMV as far south as Richmond, VA</strong>. This role is responsible for driving execution in the field, managing crews, subcontractors, schedules, safety, and quality to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification.</p>

<p>The ideal candidate is a hands-on field leader with strong sitework or heavy civil experience, a proven track record of managing complex projects, and the ability to enforce standards while maintaining productivity and safety. This is a critical leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and takes ownership of field performance from start to finish.</p>

<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>

<p><em><u>Project Execution &amp; Field Leadership</u></em></p>

<ul>

<li>Manage all daily construction operations on assigned projects.</li>

<li>Develop and execute project work plans, sequencing, and logistics.</li>

<li>Coordinate labor, equipment, and materials to meet project schedules.</li>

<li>Lead field crews and subcontractors to achieve productivity targets.</li>

<li>Interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents to ensure proper execution.</li>

</ul>

<p><em><u>Safety Management</u></em></p>

<ul>

<li>Champion a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with all OSHA and company safety standards.</li>

<li>Conduct daily safety meetings, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and site inspections.</li>

<li>Identify risks proactively and implement corrective actions immediately.</li>

<li>Ensure all personnel and subcontractors adhere to safety requirements.</li>

</ul>

<p><em><u>Scheduling &amp; Productivity</u></em></p>

<ul>

<li>Collaborate with Project Managers to develop and maintain project schedules.</li>

<li>Monitor progress and adjust resources to maintain or improve schedule performance.</li>

<li>Identify and mitigate delays, conflicts, or constraints in real time.</li>

</ul>

<p><em><u>Quality Assurance &amp; Compliance</u></em></p>

<ul>

<li>Ensure all work meets project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.</li>

<li>Coordinate inspections with owners, agencies, and third-party inspectors.</li>

<li>Maintain accurate field documentation including daily reports, logs, and photos.</li>

<li>Oversee testing and quality control processes (e.g., compaction, concrete, asphalt).</li>

</ul>

<p><em><u>Subcontractor &amp; Vendor Management</u></em></p>

<ul>

<li>Coordinate and supervise subcontractors to ensure alignment with project expectations.</li>

<li>Enforce contract scope, schedule, and quality standards.</li>

<li>Maintain strong working relationships with vendors and suppliers.</li>

</ul>

<p><em><u>Client Coordination</u></em></p>

<ul>

<li>Serve as the primary field point of contact for owners, engineers, and public agencies.</li>

<li>Participate in progress meetings and represent field operations professionally.</li>

<li>Support public relations efforts on projects impacting traffic or communities.</li>

</ul>

<p><em><u>Cost Awareness</u></em></p>

<ul>

<li>Work closely with the Project Manager to manage labor, equipment, and production costs.</li>

<li>Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste.</li>

<li>Assist with tracking quantities and production rates.</li>

</ul>

<p><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p>

<ul>

<li>Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction methods, sequencing, and logistics.</li>

<li>Proficiency in cost-control systems and construction-management software.</li>

<li>Deep understanding of public contracts, specifications, and compliance requirements</li>

<li>Experience working on public contracts (1-3 years)</li>

<li>Experience with creating/managing schedules (1-3 years)</li>

<li>Ability to lead multiple complex projects simultaneously</li>
