Volunteer LGBTQ+ Committee Board Chair

<p>As the LGBTQ+ Committee Board Chair, you will provide leadership and strategic direction for the committee, ensuring that the needs and voices of LGBTQ+ youth are effectively represented and supported within our programs and initiatives. This is a volunteer position with an estimated commitment of 10 hours per month, including quarterly board meetings and occasional events.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Leadership:</strong>&nbsp;Lead the LGBTQ+ Committee, setting agendas, facilitating meetings, and guiding the committee's work.</li><li><strong>Strategic Planning:</strong>&nbsp;Develop and implement strategies to support and empower LGBTQ+ youth within Brakin Out Inc.’s programs.</li><li><strong>Advocacy:</strong>&nbsp;Advocate for the needs and rights of LGBTQ+ youth within the organization and the broader community.</li><li><strong>Program Development:</strong>&nbsp;Collaborate with staff and volunteers to design and implement programs and initiatives that address the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ+ youth.</li><li><strong>Community Engagement:</strong>&nbsp;Build and maintain relationships with LGBTQ+ organizations, community leaders, and stakeholders to strengthen partnerships and resource sharing.</li><li><strong>Fundraising Support:</strong>&nbsp;Assist in fundraising efforts, including identifying potential funding sources and supporting grant applications.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p>

<ul><li>Proven experience in leadership roles within LGBTQ+ organizations or related fields.</li><li>Strong understanding of the challenges and needs of LGBTQ+ youth.</li><li>Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Commitment to the mission and values of Brakin Out Inc.</li><li>Experience in strategic planning, program development, and advocacy.</li><li>Previous board experience is a plus but not required.</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively and independently.</li><li>Passionate about making a positive impact on the community.</li></ul>
