For more information on the qualifications for this position, visit the Office of Personnel Management's General Schedule Qualification Standards. Your application and resume must clearly show that you possess the experience requirements. For the GS-12: You must have one-year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as two or more of the following: planning and coordinating the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of applications, hardware, and software for numerous operating systems; and/or identifying corrective or preventative actions to rectify immediate information technology (IT) problems and prevent future occurrences; and/or coordinating with other IT specialists and with management to recommend innovative approaches to solve complex IT issues. In addition to the qualification requirements above, applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the following competencies: (1). Attention to Detail: Performs work and have been conscientious about attending to detail. (2). Customer Service: Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. (3). Decision Making: Makes sound, well-informed, and objective decisions; perceives the impact and implications of decisions; commits to action, even in uncertain situations, to accomplish organizational goals; causes change.
