For the GS-12: You must have one-year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as two or more of the following: planning and coordinating the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of applications, hardware, and software for numerous operating systems; and/or identifying corrective or preventative actions to rectify immediate information technology (IT) problems and prevent future occurrences; and/or coordinating with other IT specialists and with management to recommend innovative approaches to solve complex IT issues. In addition to the qualification requirements above, applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the following competencies: (1).
