<p>Location: Severna Park, MD (Remote/Hybrid Options Available) Start Date: ASAP</p>

<p>Position Overview</p>

<p>We are seeking an experienced Drafter to perform Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) drafting services for federal clients. This role will support design-build and design-bid-build projects using AutoCAD and REVIT software. The ideal candidate will provide highly competent drafter with technical excellence working with senior Professional Engineers (PEs).</p>

<p>Role on the Team</p>

<p>Reporting to the Project Manager, the Drafter will be responsible for developing/producing technical engineering drawings. Drafter will interact with other disciplines, working in BIM/CAD to execute designs, developing drawings, and incorporating specification edits. PEs will provide Drafter with guidance on code compliance, design parameters, and calculations.</p>

<p>Key Responsibilities</p>

<ul>

<li>Draft drawings for MEP requirements based on input from PEs, including room type(s) and code requirement(s), zones, etc.</li>

<li>Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure installation and operations conform to drafting/drawing codes, standards, and customer requirements.</li>

<li>Operate independently in engineering/design software to perform drafting tasks, drawings, specifications, etc.</li>

<li>Review and incorporate load calculations from PEs.</li>

<li>Review and incorporate equipment from PEs.</li>

<li>Review and incorporate specifications from PEs for purchases of materials or equipment.</li>

<li>Confer with engineers, customers, or others to discuss project submittal requirements .</li>

<li>Compile data and write reports regarding existing or potential mechanical engineering studies or projects.</li>

<li>Support project production efforts to ensure projects are on time and within budget.</li>

<li>Perform pre-bid site walks to identify requirements for price proposals as required.</li>

<li>Perform post-award site investigations to gather information prior to designs or studies as required.</li>

<p>Qualifications</p>

<p>Education &amp; Client Experience</p>

<ul>

<li>Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field.</li>

<li>10+ years of general experience in MEP drafting/design.</li>

<li>5+ years of MEP engineering drafting/design experience on Federal Government A/E projects with federal agencies (USACE, NAVFAC, VA, USDA, DHA, USACE Huntsville MST, USACE Little Rock MST, USACE Mobile MST, VA, etc.).</li>

<li>Technical Expertise</li>

<li>Experience with industry-standard software (i.e. Revit, CAD, Bluebeam, etc.)</li>

<li>Drafting/design experience using UFCs, WBDG, USACE Huntsville Design Guide, or others.</li>

<li>Proficient with MEP engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.</li>

<li>Experience with MEP planning, design, and construction management; including active involvement in a variety of renovation, new design, and construction projects.</li>

<li>Specific knowledge of relevant engineering and MEP construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.</li>

<li>Ability to review or make technical computations and calculations involving the application of Mechanical engineering principles, understanding plans and specifications, and making factual comparisons to the appropriate regulations.</li>
