Healthcare Information System Senior Developer - 003

<p>Primary Role:</p>

<p>Doctors Hospital (DH) increasingly relies on its healthcare computer systems in all areas of its&nbsp;hospital operations, clinical care delivery and decision-making processes. It is therefore crucial&nbsp;to ensure the correct operation and maintenance of the DH Hospital Information Systems (HIS)&nbsp;remains optimal including all of its supporting clinical software applications.</p>

<p><br>The Senior Developer will work with the Information System Department leadership to develop&nbsp;and maintain DH HIS clinical applications. Participate in the development and/or deployment of&nbsp;new hospital applications and supporting medical systems and software strategies using new&nbsp;emerging technologies to maintain DH’s lead in technological competitiveness in the healthcare<br>industry.</p>

<p>General Responsibilities:</p>

<ul>

<li>Work on web-based and native software development projects within different disciplines<br>which influences multiple areas of the hospital’s business model.</li>

<li>Participate in the development of hospital wide technical designs and solutions.</li>

<li>Be an integral part of the lifecycle of software and web development initiatives.</li>

<li>Collaborate effectively with existing 3rd party services providers, B2B/EDI Financial Service<br>Providers and developers to integrate required systems and technologies to DH hospital<br>systems.</li>

<li>Analyze, code, test, implement, and update existing and new software and web applications<br>and provide solutions to DH’s technology needs.</li>

<li>Provide solutions to technical difficulties and complex issues that might affect various<br>hospital interests, operational factors and subject areas simultaneously.</li>

<li>Coordinate with other team members and provide the tangible end-to-end solutions and<br>products.</li>

<li>Mentor other peer developers with workflow and complex software with your skills and<br>experience.<br></li>

<li>Work collectively with the team and department leaders, DH leadership, and others and<br>support them in resolving hitching issues.</li>

<li>Good interpersonal communication skills to work in a friendly and effective workplace<br>environment.</li>

<li>Adaptive and up for cross-functional collaborations to achieve common goals for the growth<br>and development.</li>

<p>Specific Technical Responsibilities:</p>

<ul>

<li>Develop OpenVMS based MedWorxs/STAT suite of hospital applications.</li>

<li>Develop on UNIX/Linux Operating Systems such as OpenVMS, *BSD Unix and Linux.</li>

<li>Participate in the development of new parallel hospital systems and applications to replace.</li>

<li>or supplement existing legacy technologies with newer emerging technologies.</li>

<li>Develop APIs to connect to the MedWorxs OpenVMS RMS Databases.</li>

<li>Develop and maintain HL7/EDI and DICOM communication platforms between all hospital applications</li>

<li>Develop UI/UX Client-Side technologies which can employ both commercial and opensource frameworks, such as but not limited to .NET, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Angular, Backbone, iOS, Android, Cordova, Node.js, Vue.js and others.</li>

<li>Deploy API based componentized services which include .Net Core, restful services, API management, micro services.</li>

<li>Be proficient in .NET, C#, C/C++ programming languages.</li>

<li>Develop application databases and schemas using latest SQL Server technologies.</li>

<li>Familiarity with opensource databases such as MySQL/Heidi and PostgreSQL.</li>

<li>Review and manage existing systems utilizing opensource programming and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, Perl, PHP, Ruby and others.</li>

<li>Knowledge of systems development from methodology through detailed design, construction, change control, implementation and production support.</li>

<li>Assess and analyze business and system requirements to design application integration solutions with principles of component reusability and security.</li>

<li>Develop Technical Design Documentation, codes and design, design and code, execute unit tests.</li>

<li>Provide production and non-production systems support.</li>

<li>Support solution design of emergent business demands.</li>

<li>Maintain optimal operation of hospital applications.</li>

<li>Oversee hospital application support ticketing system to assess application requests and issues.</li>

<li>Ensuring data protection is maintained throughout the development process and the operations of the applications.</li>

<li>Ensure DR/BCP capabilities and documentation are updated specific to development and application operations.</li>

<li>Maintaining updated and accurate information of the source tree and other development data assets.</li>

<li>Maintain staff and clients’ communications through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the telephone, to help set up systems or resolve issues.</li>

<li>Providing procedural documentation and relevant reports.</li>

<li>Support the roll-out of new DH applications.</li>

<li>Working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate).</li>

<li>Rapidly establishing a good working relationship with clinical service providers, internal customers and other professionals, such as software developers.</li>

<li>Testing and evaluating new technologies.</li>

<li>Maintaining uptime requirements of all DH medical applications.</li>

<li>To operate effectively with good communications skills.</li>

</ul>

<p>Accountability:<br>• The HIS Senior Developer will be accountable to the HIS Lead Developer.<br></p>

<p><br></p>

<p>Educational Responsibilities<br>• Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and/or Master's Degree in Computer Science,&nbsp;Software Engineering,&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Software Development, Computer Engineering and/or equivalent computer related certifications.<br>• Minimum five (5) years as a developer utilizing frameworks .NET, C#, C/C++ programming&nbsp;language and SQL&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;databases development.<br>• Minimum three (3) years’ development of modern UIs with HTML 5, Angular and Typescript.<br>• Mandatory working knowledge of Operating Systems, Window Server (2003 and later),<br>&nbsp; &nbsp;Virtualization, VMWare, Hyper-V, Working knowledge of the UNIX/Linux Operating System.<br>• Understanding of the Unix Operating systems and experience developing on Unix platforms.<br>• Full understanding of the Cayman DPL (Data Protection Law), HIPAA, GDPR laws and<br>&nbsp; &nbsp;regulations.</p>

<p><br>Other Beneficiary Experience<br>• Familiarity with open-source development platforms.<br>• Familiarity with the Joint Commission International Accreditation process advantageous<br>• Development experience with industry certified clinical systems such as Cerner, EPIC,<br>Meditech, ECW, MedWorxs or other equivalent medical systems is highly desirable.<br><br></p>

<p>Travel:<br>No overseas travel expected. Local travel to other facilities expected semi-regularly.</p>
