On-Highway Truck Mechanic

<p>Purpose</p>

<p>The <em>Material Transfer </em><em>On-Highway Truck Mechanic </em>is responsible for working with&nbsp;heavy&nbsp;machinery used in construction. They work with the biggest engines, inspecting, servicing, and repairing any damage to the engine or&nbsp;vehicle.</p>

<p>Job Responsibilities&nbsp;</p>

<ul>

<li>Performs independent preventative maintenance and repairs for a fleet of Dump Trucks and Lowboys</li>

<li>Checks each unit for safety related and other defects as required</li>

<li>Works with a wide variety of people and be able to work with their needs and requests</li>

</ul>

<p>Work Schedule </p>

<p>Full-time (10 hour days)</p>

<ul>

<li>Ability to work flexible schedules such as weekends, holidays, special days, etc.</li>

<li>Overtime required</li>

</ul>

<p>Skills and Specifications&nbsp;</p>

<ul>

<li>Mechanical repair experience on heavy trucks and dump trucks</li>

<li>Experience in the transportation/trucking industry</li>

<li>Current valid driver’s license</li>

<li>Must have own tools</li>

<li>High School Diploma or GED Equivalency</li>

<li>Ability to legally work in the United States</li>

<li>Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug-screen</li>

<li>Must pass a criminal background check</li>

</ul>

<p>Preferred Qualifications&nbsp;</p>

<ul>

<li>Computer skills</li>

<li>Class A or B Commercial Driver's License</li>

<li>Brake and AC Certified</li>

<li>Diagnosis of electrical problems</li>

</ul>
