Awanui Labs – Canterbury is owned by Awanui Group (previously known as Asia Pacific Healthcare Group), a healthcare company committed to providing facilities and services that deliver exceptional care to its clients.<br><br>About the role | Mō te tūranga:<br>We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and skilled<em> Medical Laboratory Technician </em>to join our Anatomical Pathology team in a permanent, full-time role (80 hours per fortnight). This is an excellent opportunity to build your expertise in a specialised and rewarding field while contributing to high-quality diagnostic services that support patient care.<br><br></p>

<p>You will be highly organised, detail-focused, and approachable, with strong analytical skills and a commitment to accuracy. The successful candidate will demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and a strong willingness to learn, thriving in a precise and fast-paced laboratory environment while working effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.<br><br><em><u>Key Responsibilities:</u></em></p>

<ul>

<li>Perform laboratory tests and analyses in anatomical pathology.</li>

<li>Maintain high accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.</li>

<li>Work independently and collaboratively with the pathology team.</li>

<li>Follow quality standards and ensure patient care focus.</li>

<li>Continuously develop skills and adapt to specialized procedures.</li>

<li>Organize and manage workflow efficiently in a demanding environment.</li>

<p><br>About you | He kōrero mōu<br><em><u>To be successful in this role, you will need to:</u></em></p>

<ul>

<li>A team focus with initiative, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and possess the ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.</li>

<li>Excellent attention to detail, with good record keeping skills.</li>

<li>The ability to work independently, while in a supported role.</li>

<li>Registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practicing Certificate as a Medical Laboratory Technician.</li>

<li>Flexibility with your working hours will be invaluable to the team.</li>

<li>A sound knowledge of laboratory operations including safety, operation of equipment and hands-on practical Histology experience preferred.</li>

<li>Eligibility to work in New Zealand.<br><br></li>
