<p>Children’s Ministry Job Description <br>The&nbsp;Children’s Ministry Director&nbsp;plays a vital leadership role at Church on the Rock, overseeing all aspects of the COTR Kids Ministry at their campus.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This position is a part-time position at Church on The Rock.&nbsp;This position reports directly to the&nbsp;Campus Pastor&nbsp;and works closely with volunteer leaders, families, and staff to create a Christ-centered environment where children can grow in their relationship with Jesus.</p>

<p>Primary Responsibilities<br></p>

<p>Sunday Ministry Oversight<br></p>

<ul>

<li>Be present and available on Sunday mornings; arrive at least one hour before the first service.</li>

<li>Oversee the full setup and teardown of Children’s Ministry spaces each Sunday, ensuring signage, check-in areas, classroom supplies, safety materials, and all ministry resources are prepared, organized, and ready to create a safe, engaging environment, and properly packed and stored for the following week.</li>

<li>Ensure all children’s ministry spaces are ready and functioning smoothly.</li>

<li>Greet and support serve team members, families, and children.</li>

<li>Be ready to step into any COTR Kids role as needed.</li>

<p>Team Leadership &amp; Care<br></p>

<ul>

<li>Recruit, train, schedule, and encourage volunteers and team leaders.</li>

<li>Provide pastoral care and spiritual support to serve team members and families.</li>

<li>Lead or participate in regular team meetings (frequency based on campus needs).</li>

</ul>

<p>Administration<br></p>

<ul>

<li>Maintain volunteer onboarding, paperwork, and scheduling.</li>

<li>Help manage the children’s ministry budget and resource needs.</li>

<li>Plan and coordinate appreciation gifts or small-scale events for serve team members.</li>

<li>Keep ministry calendars and documents organized and confidential.</li>

</ul>

<p>Collaboration<br></p>

<ul>

<li>Coordinate with other ministries and leaders for shared events or space.</li>

<li>Attend campus staff meetings as requested by the Campus Pastor.</li>

<li>Communicate regularly with the Campus Pastor for alignment, accountability, and support.</li>

</ul>

<p>Expectations<br></p>

<p>The Children’s Ministry Director is expected to:</p>

<ul>

<li>Represent and champion the vision of COTR Kids.</li>

<li>Demonstrate a heart for children and families, leading with humility and joy.</li>

<li>Be dependable, organized, and able to manage both people and logistics effectively.</li>

<li>Maintain discretion and confidentiality in all ministry matters.</li>

<li>Be proficient in tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and CCB (or willing to learn).</li>

</ul>

<p>Spiritual Leadership &amp; Growth<br></p>

<ul>

<li>Model a growing relationship with Jesus and live with spiritual integrity.</li>

<li>Remain open about personal areas of spiritual growth and pursue accountability.</li>

<li>Take initiative in personal spiritual development and ongoing ministry training.</li>

</ul>

<p>Qualifications<br></p>

<p>We evaluate based on four areas:</p>

<ul>

<li>Born-again, baptized, full of the Holy Spirit, &amp; living under the lordship of Jesus.&nbsp;</li>

<li>Minimum of five years leadership experience in a church environment.&nbsp;</li>

<li>Current screening form &amp; background check on file.&nbsp;</li>

<li>Teachable, dependable, and supportive of church leadership.</li>

<li>Clearly called to serve and minister to children and families.</li>

<li>Delegation &amp; administrative gifting.&nbsp;</li>

<li>Visionary &amp; entrepreneurial gifting &amp; ability to execute vision.&nbsp;</li>

<li>Excellent communication skills. (Both verbal &amp; written)&nbsp;</li>

<li>Creative problem-solving skills. (“Solution-based thinking”)&nbsp;</li>

<li>Ability to consistently recruit, train, supervise, inspire, &amp; care for Serve Team members.</li>
