<p>Lexington Medical, Inc. is hiring an R&D Engineering Manager in Bedford, MA to lead electromechanical development of surgical stapling devices. This role combines people leadership with ownership of electromechanical product development across our powered and manual surgical stapling platforms. </p>

Our AEON™ Endostapler is an FDA-cleared, minimally invasive surgical stapler used in operating rooms around the world. With engineering, manufacturing, and quality working closely together, engineers stay close to the product and see their work move from an idea through prototyping, testing, manufacturing, and ultimately into the operating room. </p>
<p><strong>About the Role</strong> </p>
<p>As an R&D Engineering Manager at Lexington Medical, you will lead our Handle team, a group of 3 to 5 engineers supporting our Powered and Manual Surgical Stapler platforms. </p>
<p>You will provide both technical and people leadership across active product-development, product-improvement, and sustaining work. That means helping the team make sound engineering decisions, setting priorities, removing roadblocks, reviewing designs, managing project and resource tradeoffs, and developing the engineers themselves. </p>
<p>You will work closely with Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and other R&D teams as products move from development through transfer to production and throughout their lifecycle. </p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong> </p>
<ul>
<li>Lead and develop a team of 3 to 5 engineers working on electromechanical surgical stapling instrumentation. </li>
<li>Provide technical leadership across sustaining and active product-development programs, from product definition through design, verification, transfer to production, and lifecycle support. </li>
<li>Set priorities and drive day-to-day execution, including removing technical roadblocks, resolving resource conflicts, and keeping programs moving against commitments. </li>
<li>Participate in product-definition and design-requirement decisions and translate them into actionable engineering plans. </li>
<li>Serve as a technical resource and escalation point; review and approve engineering documentation, change orders, and risk-management files. </li>
<li>Own the Design History File and other relevant product documentation, including transfer-to-production documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance. </li>
<li>Lead design reviews and ensure engineering decisions account for technical, quality, manufacturing, and cross-functional goals. </li>
<li>Partner with RA/QA, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Operations on product improvements, DFX changes, new product introductions, and sustaining initiatives. </li>
<li>Build a strong engineering team through feedback, coaching, career development, recruiting, and onboarding. </li>

<p><strong>Qualifications</strong> </p>

<li>Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. </li>
