Location: Yaphank, NYIndustry: Defense, Electronics & High-Voltage Power SystemsSchedule: Full-Time | OnsiteAbout the OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Engineering Test Technician to join a growing engineering and manufacturing organization specializing in advanced electronic systems and power technologies.This role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in electrical and electronic testing, troubleshooting, and schematic interpretation who enjoy working hands-on with complex electronic assemblies and circuit boards.The successful candidate will support engineering and manufacturing efforts by performing system testing, troubleshooting electronic assemblies down to the component level, developing test procedures, and supporting new product development initiatives.What We're Looking For

Power supplies and power conversion systems

Circuit board testing and troubleshooting

Analog and digital electronics

Oscilloscope and DVM usage

Board-level troubleshooting

Schematic and wiring diagram interpretation

Key Responsibilities

Testing & TroubleshootingPerform electrical and electronic testing on circuit boards, assemblies, and completed systems.

Troubleshoot electronic equipment down to the component level.

Diagnose and resolve electrical, electronic, and system-level failures.

Identify recurring issues and communicate findings to engineering and quality teams.

Support production and engineering teams with troubleshooting activities.

Engineering SupportWork closely with engineering teams to support new product development and system validation.

Write and maintain in-process test procedures for electronic assemblies and circuit boards.

Assist with test fixture development and enhancement.

Load and configure software required for system testing and validation.

Support prototype builds and product qualification efforts.

Documentation & QualityRead and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, wire lists, and technical documentation.

Document test results, faults, failures, and corrective actions.

Return defective components and assemblies to Quality Assurance for further review.

Support continuous improvement initiatives related to test processes and product quality.

Customer & Field SupportTravel to customer locations as needed to perform:Equipment inspections

System installations

Troubleshooting

Repairs

Technical support

Required Qualifications

3+ years of experience in electrical or electronic testing.

Experience troubleshooting electronic assemblies at the component level.

Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

Hands-on experience using:Oscilloscopes

Digital Volt Meters (DVMs)

Electronic test equipment

Working knowledge of analog and digital electronics.

Experience testing printed circuit boards (PCBs).

Strong computer skills.

Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Self-motivated with strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with high-voltage testing.

Power supply or power conversion experience.

Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field.

Experience supporting engineering development programs.

Test fixture design experience.

Soldering and rework experience.

Existing U.S. Government Security Clearance.

Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
