Process Engineer I

<p>The Process Engineer&nbsp;II focuses on the design of manufacturing facility and equipment, supporting&nbsp;facility infrastructure and critical utility systems as a part of a highly interactive team. This individual is expected to execute work on one or more intermediate level tasks simultaneously and works closely with&nbsp;the Lead or Senior Engineer. This individual may also delegate some basic and fundamental tasks to Entry-Level and Design staff and provides oversight to their work. The Process Engineer II&nbsp;is expected to support the Lead Engineer and have responsibility for defined scope of the project such as a unit operation or small area. This individual should understand the project schedule and budget and develop a work plan to support the delivery of their scope in support of those broader team goals.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Core Activities</strong></p><ul><li>Interfaces with clients and external partners.</li><li>Develops construction drawing packages and writes construction specifications on basic projects of limited complexity with some&nbsp;oversight.</li><li>Supports construction activities such as RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch list development and construction progress reports.</li><li>Participates and contributes to squad checks to produce coordinated, high-quality deliverables.</li><li>Provides mentorship and guidance to Designer I to translate the engineering design into the Revit model with oversight from the Lead or Senior Engineer.</li><li>Participates in basic project system design programming with support from Lead or Senior Engineer.</li><li>Forms an understanding of the industry landscape, builds relationships with vendors and attends external industry events.</li><li>Delegates some basic and fundamental tasks to Entry-Level and Design staff and provides oversight to their work.</li><li>Supports the generation of deliverables which require more experience, deeper understanding or involve more complexity such as:<ul><li>Authoring Basis of Design Reports</li><li>Hazardous Material Summary</li><li>Material Balances</li><li>Heat Transfer Calculations</li><li>Process Simulation</li><li>Process Descriptions</li><li>Equipment Specifications</li><li>Hygienic Piping Design</li><li>Room Cards</li></ul></li></ul>

<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in a discipline-specific field</li><li>Minimum of 3 years of experience in an operating company or design firm environment</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Basic familiarity with applicable industry and regulatory guidance, as well as local building codes</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam registration or completion</li><li>Proficiency in 2D/3D design platforms (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit)</li><li>Strong ability to perform or develop engineering calculations related to fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and material and energy balances</li><li>Basic experience conducting field surveys of existing conditions and documenting and resolving field issues</li><li>Experience coordinating across internal and external cross-disciplinary project teams</li><li>Experience coordinating with construction trade partners, vendors, and manufacturers</li></ul>
