**POSITION SUMMARY:**

We are seeking an experienced Agile Scrum Master with strong Agile and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) delivery skills. The candidate will coach Agile teams and build effective working relationships with stakeholders, including customer Product Owners, using excellent oral and written communication skills.

The Scrum Master will work closely with the Release Train Engineer (RTE) and other Agile Release Train (ART) resources to support successful planning, development, testing, and deployment of solutions in an Agile environment.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:**

* Coach and lead an Agile team within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

* Facilitate team breakouts during Program Increment (PI) Planning to plan work and establish PI objectives.

* Facilitate work planning and execution throughout a Program Increment, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and demonstrations.

* Facilitate backlog refinement in collaboration with Product Owners and Business Analysts.

* Track and remove impediments to improve team efficiency and effectiveness, coordinate across teams, and engage the broader organization to resolve blockers.

* Maintain relevant team metrics, assess performance, and identify opportunities for improvement.

* Perform capacity planning to support iteration and increment planning.

* Collaborate with other Scrum Masters to manage dependencies and maintain consistency across teams.

* Liaise with architects, cybersecurity subject-matter experts (SMEs), and other stakeholders to strengthen communication across engineering disciplines.

* Manage product releases and dependencies between teams, third parties, and other Scrum teams.

* Support the development of product roadmaps.

* Coach the team toward continuous improvement and high performance.

* Develop new processes and refine existing processes to improve quality and productivity.

* Strengthen team participation in Agile communities of practice and actively contribute to the organization's Agile Community.

* Ensure appropriate staffing for assigned Epics and Features.

* Schedule and allocate work, provide advice and guidance, and resolve problems to meet technical performance and business objectives.

* Ensure product quality and timely delivery of work.

**MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:**

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with at least seven years of related experience.

* Minimum of three years of experience leading teams using Agile Scrum or a Scaled Agile approach.

* Significant experience coaching Scrum teams.

**MANDATORY SKILLS:**

* Active Secret security clearance.

* Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified SAFe Scrum Master certification.

* Strong Agile Scrum and/or Scaled Agile delivery experience.

* Experience coaching and leading Agile teams.

* Experience facilitating PI Planning, sprint planning, retrospectives, demonstrations, and backlog refinement.

* Understanding of the software development lifecycle, including planning, development, requirements management, configuration management (CM), quality assurance, and release management.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Strong collaboration, teamwork, accountability, work ethic, and self-starter capabilities.

* U.S. citizenship.

* Ability to pass an IT-1 background investigation.

* Ability to work within approximately a one-hour commute of Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.

**NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:**

* SAFe Advanced Scrum Master certification.

* SAFe Practitioner certification.

* Other Scaled Agile certifications.

* Experience with continuous deployment models.

* Ability to apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts and contribute to innovative principles and ideas.

**DEGREES AND CERTIFICATIONS:**

**Required:**

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

* Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified SAFe Scrum Master certification.

* Active Secret security clearance.

**Preferred:**

* SAFe Advanced Scrum Master certification.

* SAFe Practitioner certification.

* Any other Scaled Agile certification.
