Current Department of Army Civilian Employees Applying on Time-Limited Assignments Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 4 years by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience Requirement: One year specialized experience which includes formulating annual budget estimates for organizational operating programs; certifying fund availability for contracts or acquisitions; reallocating funds to address organizational spending priorities; and developing strategic solutions to resolve complex budgetary problems.
